Redbridge Children's Trust has…
…developed an "Integrated Working Development Programme" in partnership with the University of East London based on the DfES(2006) "Championing Children framework". The target audience for the programme is practitioners from education, health and social care disciplines, including support staff, working within the Children's Trust. The Programme is recognised as being an essential part of the development of integrated working within the Trust.
The programme is made up of four modules - Shaping the Culture; Development of Practice; Leadership & Management and Partnership Working. It also includes Action Learning Sets – and recommendations arising from these have been taken forward.
So far 33 staff have been through the programme from across the Children's Trust, with a second cohort now underway.
The Trust, in partnership with London South Bank University, has also developed a two year Children and Young People's Assistant Practitioner Foundation Degree that will enable staff to work across education, health and social care disciplines. The current cohort of 13 students have just commenced the second year of their foundation degree. This Foundation Degree, which is a national pilot, has provided the opportunity to develop and implement an Assistant Practitioner role across the Trust.
