Children’s trusts will collect evidence about how they’re doing on each colour of the rainbow using a range of activities or tests.

They will be able to make some choices about the tests that will work best for their local area and create an individual plan for completing the tool.

All the tests work on the same principle of seeking evidence to answer the tools’ key questions or prompts.

There are a number of tests for collecting evidence and trusts can pick and mix from these. These include some specific tests for the safeguarding and the integrated working drill down areas of the tool.

Trusts can also bring in evidence and scores from other assessments they have already done - and can also develop their own tests.
