As well as assessing, planning and getting the support that local areas need to move from good to world-class, there are also lots of ways they can use the tool and lots of uses to which they can put the evidence uncovered as part of doing it
Local areas can use the tool to:

- Support cultural change
- Keep track of how they’re doing during regular team meetings
- Help with on-going performance and financial planning
- Highlight priorities
- Raise awareness across the area of important workforce issues and solutions.
- Support bids for resources
- Direct them towards support that can help with improvement
- Provide one place to bring together all the performance management and self assessment information about integrated working and workforce reform
- Inform self assessments they are required to do prior to external audits and inspections
- Celebrate and reward success
